Credit Score in India: How CIBIL Really Works

What a CIBIL score is, how it's calculated, and how to improve yours.

In India, your CIBIL score (300–900) reflects your creditworthiness. 750+ is considered good. Factors that influence it: payment history (35%), credit utilisation (30%), length of credit history (15%), credit mix (10%), new credit (10%). To improve it: pay EMIs and credit-card bills on time, keep utilisation under 30%, don't close your oldest card, and limit new loan applications.
